Coasting Round Britain

30th March 2013 to 12th July 2014
Lochailort to Strontian (18)
1608 out of 5630 miles completed

Log No 103. Tue 6th Aug 2013 - West of Salen to Resipole, 6 miles (1608 miles walked)

No day off today but a short 6 miles (it's short at the start of the day as opposed to long at the end) to Resipole and hopefully relax.

The next proper campsite is 3 nights away so we must make full use of the facilities.

With no rush to start we had a lie in until 07.00 and left at 08.30, like yesterday morning the wind had dropped and the midges were feeling playful again but this time I did have my legs covered.

Another day and different weather again, no two days are the same lately, overcast with showers.

Dave at Salen Bay
We took our time walking and dodged the traffic on our way to Salen where we expected to get food for tonight and tomorrow's lunch but we never saw any sign of a shop, we hoped the campsite would have something.

We arrived at the campsite after 3 hours, Mick & Karen were here 30 years ago and he said the site had grown considerably. And it did have a shop. (I know you don't start a sentence with And)

It was still the same owners and they generously waived the site fees and gave us a £30 donation, Mick is collecting for Alzheimer's.

Thank's to everyone who has made a donation and thanks also to those of you who have put a comment on the site or emailed me.

What might seem an inane comment to you is actually a tonic to me, it is just the same when I have two minutes of conversation with someone, the lift you get is quite amazing.
