Log No 306. Tue 6th May 2014 - A rest day (4680 miles walked)

This was a good place to have a rest day with Chichester just a short bus ride from the campsite.

I was needing to get a new pair of walking shoes and Chichester had a store that sold the kind I wanted in the town centre, I got a new pair of gaiters too.

This is my 5th pair of boots/shoes and with less than 1000 miles to go now this pair should see me through to the finish on 12th July.

When my leg was really painful last week I thought the finish date was over optimistic and wished I hadn't set a date because I would have taken a few days off to give my leg a proper chance to recover. It's not far off being back to normal, there's still a bit of a lump on the shin and haven't quite got full pain free movement of my foot yet.

I spent an hour in the library using the internet to find campsites for the next few days and I posted home a batch of maps (A4 sheets) that I had finished with, it's a bit less weight to carry.

All is looking well and I am counting down the weeks now.
